M. M. Sasi
Educator, Linguist & School Chairman
M. M. Sasi is an educator, linguist, and Chairman of Good Morning Grammar High School. A lifelong advocate of accessible education, he has spent decades simplifying complex linguistic theories—such as Chomsky’s generative grammar—for students, writers, and fellow educators. His work bridges academic insight with real-world teaching.
About
M. M. Sasi, born in Kerala in 1956, is an educator, linguist, and writer whose life has been dedicated to learning and social transformation. His early years were marked by active involvement in theatre, the library movement, literacy campaigns, science education, and political activism—experiences that deeply shaped his lifelong commitment to community empowerment and educational reform.
Sasi later settled in Telangana, where, with the steadfast support of his life companion, Mrs. K.P. Annie, he founded the Good Morning Educational Society. Together, they established schools in remote villages, bringing quality education to marginalised communities. His passion for innovative teaching led him to adopt and promote Montessori methods, culminating in his publication Montessori: A Brief Guide—a practical resource for educators and parents alike.
As a veteran English teacher, Sasi has inspired generations of students with his enthusiasm for language and critical thinking. While he originally knew Noam Chomsky for his political writings, it was through the internet that he discovered Chomsky's revolutionary linguistic theories. Fascinated by the concept of generative grammar, Sasi undertook the challenge of writing a clear, accessible guide to the subject. The result is Generative Grammar (Chomskyan or Universal): An Introductory Handbook—a work designed to demystify Chomsky’s ideas for newcomers and educators alike.
M. M. Sasi’s journey—from youthful activism in Kerala to his transformative educational work in Telangana, and finally to his contributions in the field of linguistics—reflects his unwavering dedication to knowledge, teaching, and uplifting others through education.
