Membership Terms & Conditions

The Infinite Shelf Plan

By purchasing or activating The Infinite Shelf, the customer confirms that they have read, understood and accepted these Membership Terms & Conditions. Please read this carefully before purchasing The Infinite Shelf on Classic Pages.

1. INTRODUCTION

The Infinite Shelf (“Membership”, “Plan” or “The Infinite Shelf”) is a paid membership offered under the Classic Pages brand.

The Membership provides Members with recurring Book Credits of ₹500 every 30 days, which may be used toward the purchase of eligible physical books through the Classic Pages App.

By purchasing or activating The Infinite Shelf, the customer (“Member”, “you” or “your”) confirms that they have read, understood and accepted these Membership Terms & Conditions (“Terms”).

2. MEMBERSHIP FEE

  • 2.1 Membership Price
  • The Membership is offered at:

    ₹7,999 + applicable GST

    Applicable GST will be charged separately at the rate prescribed under applicable law.

  • 2.2 Payment
  • The Membership Fee must be paid through the payment methods made available by Classic Pages.

    The Membership will become active after successful receipt and confirmation of payment.

  • 2.3 Nature of Membership Fee
  • The Membership Fee is consideration for the Membership benefits and services described in these Terms.

    The Membership Fee is not represented as an investment, loan, security, financial product, or profit-sharing arrangement.

3. THE INFINITE SHELF BENEFITS

While the Membership remains active, the Member is entitled to:

  1. ₹500 Book Credit every 30 days; and
  2. the ability to use available Book Credits toward eligible physical-book purchases through the Classic Pages App.

The Membership does not provide cash returns or financial returns.

4. “READ UNLIMITED” — MEANING

Where Classic Pages uses the phrase “Read Unlimited” in connection with The Infinite Shelf, it refers to the Member's ability to continue purchasing eligible physical books using the Book Credits made available under the active Membership.

“Read Unlimited” does not mean unlimited free books or unlimited monetary credit.

The amount of Book Credit available to the Member is determined by the Membership terms described herein.

5. ELIGIBLE BOOKS

  • 5.1 Physical Books
  • The Infinite Shelf covers physical books available for purchase through Classic Pages.

  • 5.2 Catalogue Coverage
  • The intended catalogue coverage includes physical book titles listed and available for purchase on Amazon.in, across different:

    • authors;
    • publishers;
    • genres;
    • languages;
    • editions; and
    • categories.
  • 5.3 Amazon.in as Catalogue Reference
  • Amazon.in is used solely as a catalogue reference/benchmark for the breadth of books intended to be covered under the Membership.

    Amazon.in is not the seller of The Infinite Shelf Membership and is not a party to these Terms.

  • 5.4 Purchase Through Classic Pages
  • All book purchases using The Infinite Shelf Book Credits must be placed and completed through the Classic Pages App.

    Book Credits cannot be directly redeemed on Amazon.in.

  • 5.5 Book Requests
  • A Member may request an eligible physical book through the Classic Pages App.

    Classic Pages will make reasonable efforts to procure the requested book, subject to availability and lawful and commercially reasonable procurement.

6. BOOK AVAILABILITY

Although the Membership is designed to provide broad catalogue coverage corresponding to physical books listed on Amazon.in, the availability of an individual book may change.

A particular title may be temporarily or permanently unavailable due to:

  • stock availability;
  • publisher availability;
  • seller availability;
  • discontinued editions;
  • edition or format changes;
  • language availability;
  • geographical restrictions;
  • procurement limitations;
  • delivery restrictions;
  • legal or regulatory restrictions; or
  • other circumstances outside Classic Pages' reasonable control.

The listing of a particular book on Amazon.in does not constitute an unconditional guarantee that Classic Pages can procure and deliver that exact book at all times.

7. BOOK FORMATS

Eligible books generally include physical formats such as:

  • Paperback
  • Hardcover
  • Mass-market paperback
  • Other physical editions

The following are not included unless specifically stated by Classic Pages:

  • eBooks;
  • Kindle editions;
  • audiobooks;
  • software;
  • digital subscriptions;
  • non-book products.

8. MONTHLY BOOK CREDIT

  • 8.1 Credit Amount
  • The Member receives:

    ₹500 Book Credit every 30 days

    while the Membership remains active.

  • 8.2 Credit Cycle
  • The credit cycle will generally be calculated from the Membership activation date.

  • 8.3 Continuation
  • Book Credits continue to be issued every 30 days while the Membership remains active and in good standing.

  • 8.4 No Cash Withdrawal
  • Book Credits:

    • cannot be withdrawn as cash;
    • cannot be transferred to a bank account;
    • cannot be exchanged for cash;
    • cannot be sold;
    • cannot be pledged;
    • do not earn interest;
    • do not represent an investment;
    • do not represent ownership in Classic Pages or its legal entity.

9. USE OF BOOK CREDITS

  • 9.1 Purchase of Books
  • Book Credits may be used toward eligible physical-book purchases through the Classic Pages App.

  • 9.2 Book Price Higher Than Available Credit
  • If the purchase price of a book exceeds the Member's available Book Credit balance, the Member must pay the difference.

    Example:

    Book price: ₹900
    Available Book Credit: ₹500

    Book Credit used: ₹500
    Additional amount payable: ₹400

    Applicable delivery charges, taxes or other disclosed charges may be payable separately.

  • 9.3 Book Price Lower Than Available Credit
  • If the purchase price of a book is lower than the Member's available Book Credit balance, only the amount required for that purchase will be redeemed.

    The remaining unused credit will carry forward.

    Example:

    Available Book Credit: ₹1,000
    Book price: ₹700

    Book Credit redeemed: ₹700
    Remaining Book Credit: ₹300

    The ₹300 balance carries forward for future eligible purchases while the Membership remains active.

  • 9.4 Accumulation
  • Unused Book Credits from multiple 30-day cycles may accumulate and may be used toward future eligible purchases while the Membership remains active.

10. BOOK CREDIT REDEMPTION

For the purposes of these Terms, “Book Credits Redeemed” means the actual value of Book Credits that have been successfully applied toward completed eligible book purchases.

Book Credits that have merely been issued but have not been used are not considered redeemed.

For example:

Credits issued: ₹3,000
Credits actually used: ₹1,200
Book Credits Redeemed: ₹1,200
Unused balance: ₹1,800

11. BOOK ORDER CANCELLATION / RETURN

If a book order purchased using Book Credits is cancelled, returned, rejected or otherwise reversed in accordance with the applicable Classic Pages book-purchase policy, the corresponding Book Credits may be restored to the Member's account where appropriate.

A Member will not be entitled to receive a duplicate benefit consisting of both:

  1. the value of the cancelled purchase; and
  2. the same Book Credits restored as an additional benefit,

except where expressly permitted under the applicable policy.

12. BOOK PRICES

Book prices may vary over time due to:

  • publisher pricing;
  • seller pricing;
  • edition changes;
  • availability;
  • market conditions;
  • procurement costs.

The applicable price for a purchase will be communicated through the Classic Pages App at the time the order is processed.

13. DELIVERY

Book delivery is subject to:

  • serviceable locations;
  • inventory;
  • courier availability;
  • logistics;
  • weather;
  • local conditions;
  • operational circumstances.

Estimated delivery times are indicative unless expressly guaranteed.

Any applicable delivery or logistics charges will be communicated to the Member before the applicable transaction is completed.

14. MEMBER-INITIATED CANCELLATION

  • 14.1 Cancellation Right
  • A Member may request cancellation of The Infinite Shelf by providing 30 days' prior notice.

  • 14.2 Cancellation Request
  • The cancellation request must be submitted through an official Classic Pages communication channel. The Membership will remain active during the applicable notice period, unless otherwise agreed by Classic Pages.

  • 14.3 Member Cancellation & Refund Calculation
  • Where the Member voluntarily cancels the Membership, the refundable amount will be calculated as:

    Total Amount Paid for the Membership − Total Book Credits Actually Redeemed

    For clarity, Total Amount Paid means the total amount actually paid by the Member at the time of subscription, including applicable GST.

    Only Book Credits that have actually been redeemed toward eligible book purchases will be deducted from the refund calculation. Unused Book Credits will not be deducted.

  • 14.4 Example
  • Total Amount Paid for Membership: ₹7,999 + applicable GST
    Book Credits Actually Redeemed: ₹2,000

    Refund = Total Amount Paid − ₹2,000

    The applicable tax treatment of the refund will be handled in accordance with applicable law.

  • 14.5 Credits Equal to or Greater Than Amount Paid
  • If the total value of Book Credits actually redeemed is equal to or greater than the Total Amount Paid for the Membership, the refundable amount will be ₹0.

    No refund amount or additional payment will be payable by Classic Pages solely because the value of Book Credits redeemed exceeds the Total Amount Paid.

  • 14.6 Unused Book Credits at Cancellation
  • Any Book Credits remaining unused at the time the Membership is cancelled will have no cash value and will not be separately refundable or payable to the Member.

15. COMPANY-INITIATED TERMINATION

  • 15.1 Right to Terminate
  • Classic Pages may discontinue or terminate The Infinite Shelf by providing the Member with 30 days' prior notice.

  • 15.2 Full Refund
  • Where Classic Pages voluntarily terminates the Membership under this provision:

    The Member will receive a full refund of the Membership Fee paid, subject to applicable tax laws.

  • 15.3 Previously Redeemed Credits
  • Where Classic Pages voluntarily terminates the Membership, previously redeemed Book Credits will not be deducted from the Membership Fee refund merely because they have already been used.

16. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MEMBER CANCELLATION AND COMPANY TERMINATION

The two cancellation mechanisms are different.

If the Member cancels:

The Member has voluntarily chosen to discontinue the Membership after receiving its benefits.

Therefore:

Refund = ₹7,999 − Book Credits Actually Redeemed

If Classic Pages terminates:

The termination is initiated by Classic Pages.

Therefore:

Full Membership Fee refund

subject to applicable tax treatment and the provisions of these Terms.

17. MEMBERSHIP DURATION

The Infinite Shelf remains active unless:

  • the Member cancels the Membership;
  • Classic Pages terminates/discontinues the Membership;
  • the Membership is suspended or terminated due to fraud, misuse or material breach; or
  • another circumstance permitted under these Terms or applicable law occurs.

The phrase “Read Unlimited” does not constitute an unconditional promise that the Membership will continue indefinitely.

18. NO CASH VALUE OF BOOK CREDITS

Book Credits are Membership benefits and have no independent monetary withdrawal value.

They cannot be:

  • withdrawn;
  • encashed;
  • transferred to a bank account;
  • sold;
  • pledged;
  • exchanged for cash.

Book Credits may only be used in accordance with these Terms.

19. NO INVESTMENT OR FINANCIAL RETURN

The Infinite Shelf is a book-purchase membership.

It is not:

  • an investment;
  • a deposit;
  • a loan;
  • a security;
  • a financial product;
  • an interest-bearing arrangement;
  • a profit-sharing arrangement;
  • an ownership arrangement.

The ₹500 Book Credit is a purchase benefit and is not interest, profit, yield, investment return or financial appreciation.

20. NO OWNERSHIP RIGHTS

Purchasing The Infinite Shelf does not provide the Member with:

  • shares;
  • equity;
  • voting rights;
  • ownership;
  • partnership rights;
  • revenue-sharing rights;
  • intellectual-property rights

in Classic Pages or any associated legal entity.

21. FAIR USE AND ACCOUNT ABUSE

The Membership is intended for genuine personal use.

Members must not:

  • create multiple accounts to obtain additional Membership benefits;
  • manipulate Book Credits;
  • exploit technical errors;
  • use automated systems to abuse the service;
  • resell Membership access;
  • resell Book Credits;
  • engage in fraudulent transactions;
  • abuse cancellation or refund processes.

Classic Pages may suspend or terminate accounts involved in fraudulent or abusive activity, subject to applicable law.

22. ACCOUNT SECURITY

The Member is responsible for maintaining the security of their Classic Pages account.

Membership benefits are associated with the registered account.

The Member should promptly notify Classic Pages of suspected unauthorised account access.

23. NON-TRANSFERABILITY

The Membership is personal to the registered Member and may not be sold, assigned, pledged, or commercially resold without prior written approval from Classic Pages.

24. CATALOGUE CHANGES

Classic Pages may add, remove or modify books available for procurement through the App.

Changes to the availability of individual books do not by themselves constitute termination of the Membership.

25. PROCUREMENT FROM THIRD PARTIES

Classic Pages may procure physical books from publishers, distributors, wholesalers, sellers or other lawful sources.

The Member is purchasing the book through Classic Pages and not directly from Amazon.in.

Amazon.in is referenced only as the catalogue benchmark for the intended breadth of available physical books.

26. PROMOTIONAL OFFERS

Classic Pages may offer The Infinite Shelf through promotional campaigns.

Unless otherwise expressly stated:

  • promotional offers cannot be combined;
  • promotional benefits have no cash value;
  • promotional Memberships remain subject to these Terms;
  • promotional pricing does not automatically create additional cancellation or refund rights.

27. TAXES

The Membership Fee is:

₹7,999 + applicable GST

Any applicable tax will be charged in accordance with Indian tax laws.

Any refund, GST adjustment, credit note or tax reversal will be handled in accordance with applicable law.

28. REFUND PROCESSING

Refunds will generally be processed using the applicable payment/refund mechanism.

The time taken for a refund may depend upon:

  • payment gateways;
  • banks;
  • UPI;
  • card networks;
  • payment processors;
  • tax documentation;
  • statutory requirements.

Classic Pages is not responsible for delays caused solely by third-party payment processors or banking systems.

29. GST AND CREDIT NOTES

Where GST has been charged on the Membership Fee, any GST refund, adjustment or credit note will be processed in accordance with applicable GST laws.

The tax component of a refund will be determined according to the applicable statutory requirements rather than solely by applying a percentage to the calculated base refund.

30. CHARGEBACKS

Members are encouraged to contact Classic Pages before initiating a payment chargeback concerning a Membership cancellation or refund.

Nothing in this clause restricts any statutory rights available to the Member.

Where a chargeback is initiated, Classic Pages may provide relevant payment, transaction and refund records to the payment provider.

31. CUSTOMER SUPPORT

Members may contact Classic Pages through its designated support channels regarding:

  • Membership;
  • Book Credits;
  • book requests;
  • book availability;
  • orders;
  • delivery;
  • cancellation;
  • refunds;
  • account-related matters.

32. PRIVACY

Personal information collected in connection with the Membership will be handled in accordance with Classic Pages' applicable Privacy Policy and applicable Indian data-protection laws.

Information may be used for:

  • account management;
  • Membership administration;
  • order processing;
  • book delivery;
  • payment processing;
  • customer support;
  • fraud prevention;
  • legal and tax compliance.

33. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All trademarks, logos, application content, website content, software, designs, graphics, text and other intellectual property relating to Classic Pages remain the property of their respective owners.

The Membership does not transfer any intellectual-property rights to the Member.

34. THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS

Classic Pages may use third-party providers for:

  • payment processing;
  • delivery;
  • logistics;
  • hosting;
  • technology;
  • communication;
  • authentication;
  • customer support.

Such providers may operate under their own applicable terms and policies.

35. FORCE MAJEURE

Classic Pages will not be responsible for delays or inability to provide services caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including:

  • natural disasters;
  • war;
  • civil disturbances;
  • government restrictions;
  • major infrastructure failures;
  • internet outages;
  • courier disruptions;
  • strikes;
  • extraordinary supply-chain disruption.

Classic Pages will make reasonable efforts to restore services when circumstances permit.

36. SERVICE SUSPENSION

Classic Pages may temporarily suspend certain services where reasonably necessary for:

  • maintenance;
  • security;
  • technical issues;
  • fraud investigation;
  • legal compliance;
  • operational emergencies.

37. MATERIAL BREACH

Material breach may include:

  • fraudulent activity;
  • deliberate misuse;
  • Book Credit manipulation;
  • unauthorised resale;
  • account manipulation;
  • repeated refund abuse;
  • unlawful use of the platform;
  • other material violations of these Terms.

Classic Pages may take appropriate action subject to applicable law.

38. CONSUMER RIGHTS

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or waive any mandatory rights available to consumers under applicable Indian law.

Where any provision conflicts with a mandatory statutory consumer right, the applicable law will prevail.

39. SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

40. NO WAIVER

Failure by Classic Pages to enforce any provision immediately does not constitute a waiver of its right to enforce that provision later.

41. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms will be governed by the laws of India.

Nothing in these Terms prevents a Member from exercising any statutory consumer remedy or approaching any competent statutory authority or forum available under applicable law.

42. AMENDMENTS

Classic Pages may update these Terms from time to time.

Where a material change affects existing Members, reasonable notice will be provided where required by applicable law.

No amendment will retrospectively remove rights already accrued to a Member except where permitted or required by applicable law.
